Certificate II in Visual Arts

Our Certificate II in Visual Arts develops basic creative and technical skills that underpin visual arts and craft practice. We deliver this once a week in the Art Room and explore individual passions through art practice supported with technique exploration and material development. Students go on excursions to galleries and consider how art history impacts their practice. This is supported with considered feedback and sharing of ideas. Employability skills are also built including communication, team work, problem-solving, planning and organising, self-management and a knowledge of how to learn.

The Certificate II enables students to progress to a wide range of other qualifications in visual arts and craft, or the creative industries more broadly. They may enter the qualification with limited or no vocational experience and without a relevant lower level qualification. Students must be 15 years or older to start the course. The Certificate is delivered over 2 years, on campus.
