Senior Pathways

the world for our young people

The working lives of today’s young people will be full of change and they will need to be flexible and responsive. Everyone needs to actively manage their career, moving between or combining work and further study in order to add to their skills and qualifications. Together with students and their families, curriculum is built around student interests, passions and needs, to give them the skills for the future of their choosing.

Outlined below are the details of the Year 11 and Year 12 program at CCS.

Graduation Process

Students Graduate at Croydon Community School with the ‘International Big Picture Learner Credential (IBPLC) and VCE VM.

The International Big Picture Learning Credential (IBPLC) is a transformative, student-centered alternative to traditional high school certification. Developed in Australia in collaboration with the University of Melbourne, the IBPLC is designed to authentically assess students’ real-world learning, personal growth, and academic competencies. Instead of ranking students or relying on standardised exams, the IBPLC evaluates learners across six learning goals:

– Knowing How to Learn
– Empirical Reasoning
– Quantitative Reasoning
– Social Reasoning
– Communication
– Personal Qualities

Student work is curated into a digital Learner Profile that includes a portfolio of work, a personal video statement, and an advisor’s narrative, showcasing their achievements and aspirations. This credential is currently accepted by over many Australian universities as a rigorous non-ATAR pathway to tertiary education.

This process also gives students the opportunity to obtain the VCE VM.
